The Internet: Feminist Friend or Foe?

A Dialogue Among Dolls by Prof. Anita Allen at Penn, found via Feminist Law Professors, is a personal essay in the form of a one-person play looking at whether the internet is really a liberating force for women. This is such an important debate but I don't think it should really be put as a debate and rather an ongoing fight. There is no doubt that the internet contain caveats of dangerous sexist activity, a huge percentage of which is actively anti-woman! But the amount of women using the internet for education, self-expression, and multi-faceted development is growing. It's more a matter of how the internet can be a liberating force, not if.
